The Pearl Public Library’s Chapter 1 Book Club presents Mississippi author, John Floyd, of Brandon, Thurs. Sept. 8 for an evening full of his widely celebrated mystery fiction.
A former Air Force captain and IBM systems engineer turned fulltime writer, Floyd, a master of whodunits and surprise endings, is the author of numerous works. In addition to three books, Rainbow’s End (2006), Midnight (2008) and Clockwork (2010, he has written more than 1,000 short stories and features for publications such as The Strand Magazine, Woman’s World, Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine, and Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine. Floyd won the 2007 Derringer Award for short mystery fiction and has been nominated three times for the Pushcart Prize.
The evening begins with Floyd’s book signing from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. He’ll have copies of all three books available for sale. At 6:30 p.m., Floyd will join the Chapter 1 Book Club’s meeting for readings and discussion.
