Floyd is best known for mystery writing. His most recent work is a short story collection, Fifty Mysteries: The Angela Files was published in 2014. Other works include Deception, Midnight, Clockwork and Rainbow's End.
The books named below are only a fraction of Floyd's work. He began writing professionally in 1994 and has published over 1,000 stories and features in widely-read publications like Woman’s World, Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine, and The Saturday Evening Post.
Floyd, a Rankin County resident and a graduate of Mississippi State University, has won the coveted Derringer Award for short mystery fiction. He teaches creative writing at Millsaps College’s Enrichment Program in Jackson. Floyd is a former Air Force captain and worked for IBM Corporation for thirty years. He and his wife, Carolyn, have three grown children and six grandchildren and live in Brandon.
