Cecelia is hitting a lot of home runs with her Chapter 1 Book Club at the Pearl Public Library,and she's on a winning streak now! Who doesn't love Mississippi's own homeboy, the late, Willie Morris?!

Willie was born in Jackson in 1934 and later moved to Yazoo City when he was six. He played baseball, football and basketball at Yazoo City High School as well as served as editor of the school newspaper. 

One of Mississippi's best-known writers, personal experiences is where Willie pulled from to produce his awe-inspiring work. Some of his best known pieces include North Toward Home, Yazoo, Good Old Boy, My Dog Skip and The Last of the Southen Girls. Willie died September of 1999.

Pick any book written by Willie Morris for the Chapter 1 Book Club meeting Apr., 10 at 6 p.m. Cecelia would love to see you. No reservation required and there are  always door prizes and light refreshments!

Good Old Boy and Good Old Boy & the Witch of Yazoo are so much fun! Both are fast reads.

Also, don't forget about My Dog Skip and My Cat Spit McGee.
