December Greetings!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year from the librarians at the Northwest Point Reservoir Library! We are busy making holiday plans with family and friends. While we may be busy, we always look forward to seeing our patrons come in to check out the latest books and movies that we have to offer!
Special Holiday Hours
All CMRLS Libraries will be closing on Monday, December 23rd, at 3:00 p.m., for the Christmas Holiday. Normal hours of operation will begin Thursday, December 26th. We want to thank our patrons for their continued support.
New Years Holiday Closing
All CMRLS Libraries will close at 3:00 p.m., on Tuesday, December 31st, and remain closed until Thursday, January 2nd, for the New Year's holiday. We hope all our patrons have a safe and happy holiday season.
Santa Claus is Coming to The Rez
Are you ready for Christmas time?! Wanting to visit with Santa Claus before his long awaited Christmas Eve flight? Come by the Library Thursday, December 19th, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., as we welcome Santa Claus for a last minute visit before he makes his Christmas Eve journey! Bring your wish list and enjoy some Christmas Cookies with Santa!
Christmas Movie Matinee
Join us at the library Thursday, December 12th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., for a special Christmas showing of the classic movie, "The Polar Express". The movie, produced in 2004, is rated (G) and is 1 hour and 40 minutes long. Free popcorn will be provided courtesy of the Friends of the
Reservoir Library while supplies last.
High Noon Book Club
Join us at the library Thursday, December 19th, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., for another hour of fine dining and even finer literature as the High Noon Book Club has its December meeting! To celebrate the holiday spirit we will be reading an early John Grisham work, "Skipping Christmas". We will also be voting on the first book of the year 2020! All patrons are welcome to attend and encouraged to bring a sack lunch. A holiday themed dessert will be provided.
Mugshots Family Trivia
Are you a Trivia Master looking for their next exciting game to conquer? Are you new to trivia and wanting to get more involved? Come to Mugshots in Flowood for another exciting game of family friendly pub trivia hosted in partnership by the Northwest Point Reservoir Library and the G. Chastaine Flynt Memorial Library in Flowood. All experience levels are welcome!
Loose Knit Group
Are you a master knitter who is looking to pass their knowledge to a new generation of knitters? Are you a beginner who is looking to learn from master knitters? Come by the Northwest Point Reservoir Library every Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., for another meeting of the Loose Knit Group. All experience levels are welcome as we work on our own projects.
Goodbye to Uno!
Our library goldfish, Uno, decided to leave the library where he has seen many patrons come to check out books and movies. His last day with the library was Halloween day. He wanted to wish all of his friends a safe and happy New Year!

July Greetings from Reservoir Library
The librarians at the
Northwest Point Reservoir Library have been busy with Summer Library Programs
this year! We have had so much fun with learning about outer space and
participating in our reading program with all our performers and their shows.
We hope that our patrons have had as much fun as we have during this summer and
eagerly look forward to next year's Summer Library Program.
Summer Bird Watching
Are you interested in the
various different kinds of birds that live around the Ross Barnett Reservoir?
Are you wanting to see if there are any feathered visitors from other parts of
the country? Come by the Northwest Point Reservoir Library to take part in our
daily bird watching! We will have binoculars for patrons to use to watch for
the different breeds of birds that call the Rez home as well as those who are
only stopping for a brief in-flight rest.
Loose Knit Group
Are you a master knitter who is looking to pass on your
knowledge to a new generation of knitters? Are you a beginner who is looking to
learn from master knitters? Come by the Northwest Point Reservoir library every
Tuesday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. All experience levels are welcome as we

Red, White, and Blue Drawing
Do you have fond memories of July 4th? Was your day filled with hot dogs, swimming, and fireworks? Stop by the Northwest Point Reservoir Library during the month of July to tell us your favorite memories of July 4th! The contest goes from July 1st through the 31st. The winner will receive a gift card to a local restaurant!
Mugshots Family Trivia Night
Are you a trivia master looking for their next game to conquer? Are you a complete newbie to the game of trivia and wanting to know how the game is played? Come join us for Mugshots Family Trivia Night July 16th @ 6:30 p.m. for another exciting night of great trivia courtesy of G. Chastaine Flynt Memorial Library and the Northwest Point Reservoir Library. We look forward to seeing you there!
High Noon Book Club
Join us Thursday July 18th at 12:00 p.m. for another meeting of the High Noon Book Club! This month we will have a "Book Report Meeting." All participants are encouraged to read a book of their own choosing and then give a report on it and we will choose the next book to read for the next meeting. All participants are encouraged to bring their own brown bag lunch. Desserts will be provided courtesy of the Northwest Point Reservoir Library. All who attend are also welcomed to bring any desserts. We hope to see you there!

DeWitt.
Splashdown with the Reservoir Fire Department
Wanting to cool down from a hot summer spent outside
reading and watching the stars? Come by the Northwest Point Reservoir Library
July 15th @ 11:00 a.m. for an hour of summer fun in the sun as we join the
Reservoir Fire Department for a memorable day of water and games! We will see
you there!
Summer Library Program
We hope that all our patrons have had a great and
restful summer of relaxation and reading! The librarians at the Northwest Point
Reservoir Library have enjoyed seeing all our patrons as they have come in and
out during the Summer Library events. We look forward to seeing all our patrons
this fall as school gets back into session.

Greetings from the Reservoir Library!
Well, the holidays are behind us as we hurry on into the New Year of 2019! We hope that all our patrons have had a great and happy holiday season. The librarians and our pet goldfish are back at work and ready to serve the public! We are ready to make 2019 the best year at the Rez!
Blind Date with a Book
Need a date for Valentine’s Day? Come by the Reservoir Library during the month of February to be set up on a blind date with some great literature! We will have the books wrapped in paper so that it can truly be a blind date. Remember no peeking!
Library Closings
The Reservoir library will be closed on February 8th for staff development day. We will resume normal hours of operation February 11th at 10am. Thank you for being supportive of all our libraries in the CMRLS organization!
The library will also be closed Monday, February 18th in observance of Presidents Day; normal business hours will resume Tuesday, February 19th at 10am. We hope that all our patrons have a happy and safe holiday. We look forward to returning to serve our patrons after a break.
Mugshots Family Trivia Night
Are you a trivia master who is looking for a good challenge? Are you new to the entire game of trivia and are looking to get started? Come to Mugshots of Flowood Tuesday, February 19th at 6:30 pm for another exciting night of trivia! Patrons of all ages are welcome to attend. Mugshots gift cards will be awarded as prizes to the winners and mugshots will provide free chips and Rotel dip for all patrons with a library voucher which can be picked up before at either library location or can be found on the tables during trivia night. Trivia night is brought to you by the G. Chastaine Flynt Memorial Library, the Northwest Point Reservoir Library, and the great staff of Mugshots of Flowood. We look forward to seeing you there!
Library Lover’s Month
February is the month of love here at the Northwest Point Reservoir Library, Library Lover’s Month that is! Come by the Reservoir Library during February to enter your name and why you love the Reservoir Library in our Library Lover’s Month drawing. The Winner will be drawn on Friday, March 1st for two $20 gift cards at Mississippi Legends Grill. Just perfect for a late Valentine’s Day date.
High Noon Book Club
For the month of February, the High Noon Book Club will be reading the book The Rising Tide: The Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 and How it Changed America which is written by John M Barry. This book tells about the history of the Great Flood of 1927 when the river overflowed its banks after a time of too much rain and the result was one of the worst floods in American history.
The last book that the High Noon Book Club read was titled Dispatches from Pluto written by Richard Grant. The entire book club really liked the book and would recommend it to anyone who is wanting to read about Mississippi written from the perspective of an outsider.
The Book club will meet on February 21st 12pm to 1pm at the Northwest Point Reservoir Library. All patrons are welcome to attend and bring a brown-bagged lunch of their choice. Deserts will be provided but patrons are also welcome to bring something with them if they would like. The next book for the month of April will be voted on towards the end of the book club meeting. All suggestions are welcome and greatly appreciated. We will see you there for an hour of good food, good literature, and good friends!
Valentine’s Day Movie
Join us at the Rez on February 14th for a special Valentine’s Day showing of the movie “Valentine’s Day”!!! Valentine’s Day tells the story of various people and how they spend the holiday of love whether it is with their loved ones or searching for that special someone who got away. Free popcorn will be provided while supplies last courtesy of the Popcorn Palace in Flowood. The movie will primer at 11 a.m. in the morning. We look forward to seeing you and your date there!
Lose Knitters Group
Are you a master knitter looking to share your knowledge of knitting with others? Are you new to the entire hobby of knitting and looking for more knowledgeable people to show you some pointers? Join our lose knitters every Tuesday of the month or a whole two hours of knitting and sewing. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own projects to work on. This month the group will meet on the 5, 12, 19th and the 26th. The group will meet from 1 to 3 in the afternoon. We hope to see you there.
Book Bubbles with Uno
Well, Uno is back from his New Year’s Eve Party! All the holidays have been great for Uno and his family. Like the rest of the library staff, he is back from his holidays of rest and relaxation and is ready to get back to helping the staff at the Northwest Point Reservoir Library serve the public and seeing the children as they come to visit the library. While taking one of his bubble blowing breaks Uno and I got to talking about the holidays of the month of February and we realized that Valentine’s day was fast approaching. Uno told me that his plans for Valentine’s day are to go out into the Reservoir to see his friends as they all go out to eat. Uno wants to wish all his friends a happy Valentine’s Day and a happy Library Lover’s Month.
Parting Words
We hope that all our patrons have a happy Valentine’s Day filled with love! We want to thank all our supporters both here at home and abroad for their continued support using our books, computers, printing services, and various other services. We hope that you will continue to support all our libraries year-round as we bring better services to all our patrons through the Central Mississippi region and beyond!

We had a lot of fun at Mugshots Trivia last night, December 18, 2018, 6:30-8:00 p.m. A special congratulations to our trivia prize winner, Morris Mermelstein, for winning first prize, a $15 gift card at Mugshots. Join us again on January 15, 2019, for another night of family-friendly fun at Mugshots Restaurant in Flowood. Presented by the Flowood and Reservoir Libraries.
Flowood Book Club
January 15, 2019, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Everyone is invited to come and discuss their favorite books and, perhaps, learn of a few more good reads in the process. The selection for January is Guardian Angel by Sara Paretsky.
The club meets every third Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. There shall be coffee and refreshments for attendees. We hope to see you there!
Crochet with Donna

What Is Falun Dafa?

Experience Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, at the Flowood Library. It is a meditation practice that brings about serenity and a higher level of awareness while also greatly benefiting your physical well-being.
FLOWOOD LIBRARY RECIPE CLUB
Meets every second Thursday 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Join us on the second Thursday of the month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for a meeting of the Flowood Library Recipe Club. Bring copies of your recipe to exchange along with a sample platter so everyone can try it! "Samples are optional and appreciated." Please preregister.
Mother Goose Lapsit
Mondays, 9:30 & 10:30 a.m. Story Time for children up to 3 years old. This month's themes are Penguins, Polar Bears, and Happy Holidays!
Peek-A-Boo Baby
Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m.
Babies to 16 months; join Ms. Emmy for a fun time singing songs, reading stories, and developing fine motor skills through finger plays. This month's themes are Snow, Snowmen, Happy Holidays and Penguins!
Preschool Story Time
Every Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. & Every Thursday, 10:30 a.m.
For children ages, 3 to 6 yrs; Ms. Eleanor hosts a fun-filled story time every Wednesday and Thursday mornings! Come join us for songs, stories, and work on a neat craft that you get to keep! This month's themes are Bears, Winter, Happy Holidays, and New Year's.
Kids' Hour
Tuesdays, 3:30 p.m. when school is in session
Join Ms. Emmy for story time and crafts for children in kindergarten to sixth grade. This month's themes are Snow, Snowmen, and Happy Holidays!
Thursday, December 27, 6:30 pm
Teens grab a hammer and get ready to make nail art. We'll have funky
patterns to choose from or be creative and design your own.
Seniors
The Flowood Library offers something for everyone. Our Flowood Prime
Time Seniors meet every Tuesday for Card Day 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. On the
first Wednesday of the month they meet for Game Day 10:00 am.-12:00 p.m.
On the last Wednesday of the month they meet for BINGO, 9:30-11:00 a.m.
When our seniors are all played out, they come inside the library and
check out books, audio CDs, DVDs, or simply stop by to say, “Hello.” Our
staff is available to assist them with their information needs.
