It's That Time of Year and the Fun is Just Beginning at the Pearl Public Library!

Don't you just loooooooove this time of year when the leaves are fluttering to the ground so beautifully? The near 100 degree temps seem to be behind us, and the cool breeze just makes ya go aaaahhhhhhhh! 

LOVE IT!

It's also the time of year when we get a burst of energy and start thinking about maybe engaging in some crafting, fun programs and festivals!

Well you are in luck because the Pearl Public Library offers it all and at NO COST!
Just a reminder that the Fall Family Festival is Tues. Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m. behind the library next to the Pearl Senior Center.  Costumes are encouraged!  It's a FREE, fun evening celebrating the entrance of fall with bounce houses, face painting and pizza, generously donated by the Pizza Shack of Jackson (Pizza available as long as the supply lasts.).  Oh yeah! That's like hitting the jackpot!

On Thurs. Oct. 10 you can hit another jackpot! BINGO! You guessed it. It's Bingo For Books at 6 p.m.It's a free program. So, come on in, play the game, win some books and enjoy light refreshments!
Save some energy though to enjoy How-To Tuesday on Tues. Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. October's feature is Autumn Leaf Mason Jar Candle Holders.
No reservation is needed and all materials supplied. No reason to miss this festive evening and the opportunity to make yourself a gorgeous fall, decorative craft. Hey, this would make a nice gift for someone special too!

All Day Affair! Get Your Free Screening!

Don't worry about your deductible or any doctor's office visit costs!  Not this time! The Pearl Public Library is hosting an all-day, free health fair, Friday, Oct. 21 from 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., featuring members of the Holmes Community College Nursing Program. Qualified nursing students will be accompanied by their instructor and registered nurse, Madeline Brewer.  There will be free blood pressure screenings, free handouts, full of great health information and free answers to your questions!  You simply cannot beat that!
OK, so that's one healthy dose of  October adult program, but it's not the only one. No way!  Amy Lee, the adult program coordinator, has your October fully covered. That's right!  Can't forget about Halloween now can we?!?!?!?!?  

So, is it trick or treat?  HOW ABOUT BOTH?! You got it!

Check this trick out. During Simply Crafts on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 6 p.m., participants will turn ordinary mason jars..... POOOOF!!!! into beautifully, decorative, nifty holding vessels.
It's a free program, no reservations needed. All materials are supplied!


Now how about the treat!  Not missing a beat, Amy has a Halloween tea on tap!  Wha Whaaaaaaaaaaattt!   Halloween and a tea?!?!? What an OXYMORON, right?!?  Maybe so, but this is gonna be one sweet tea you want to partake in! Yes, the time is right, from 2 p.m to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 and there will be tea...bwwwhahahahwwwhahhh !!!!  There will also be free cookies and donuts! So, get an early start! Come in costume if you'd like and treat yourself to Halloween yummies right here at the Pearl Public Library! 




Remember all adult programs are free. Don't miss out!

A "SIMPLY" ILLUMINATING EVENING AT THE PEARL LIBRARY!

The morning temperature is already oh-so-nice, letting us know that fall is just a few weeks away! No better time to start thinking about seasonal home decorations and crafts! 

That's what Lana, at the Pearl Public Library, has in mind for September's Simply Crafts. A fall festooned Mason Jar Votive Holder to brighten any home! Hey, it makes a great gift too! Who wouldn't want this colorful, festive beauty?!  

Don't miss this Simply Crafts on Tues., Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. It's free and all materials are supplied. No reservation or registration needed. Remember the Simply Crafts, adult program is every second Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.

Simply Crafts @ Pearl

Trick or Treat!
Treat yourself to a Halloween-themed Simply Crafts night this Tuesday, October 9 @ the Pearl Public Library. We will be making a lantern of your choice: cute, Halloween-y or a silly mummy similar to the ones pictured above. These lanterns are really nice when they're lit. They're made out of mason jars, assorted tissue, and Mod-Podge. The fun starts @ 6 p.m. and free to the public with all materials provided. Come out and make something with us!
