Here's more from Jackie:
1. What is your favorite part of working in the library?
I like seeing our patrons come into the library and leave with something they are excited about reading. Helping children find a piece of material about a subject they are already interested in or discover a new subject to explore is worth all the questions and answers.
2. Was there a book that made you love reading?
I got hooked on reading Tom Clancy books when my sister handed me one and told me to just give it a try. After I started working in the children's department here at Taylorsville, I found so many children's books that are my favorites. I am particularly partial to rhyming books with a good rhythm.
3. Tell us one e-resource you wish more people knew about.
World Book Online. This e-resource is so overlooked. I suggest it to any student and/or teacher who comes into the library looking for material for a book report or other project. https://www.worldbookonline.com/home/
4. What do you like to do when you're not at the library?
I am a homebody. I like staying at home and relaxing with my family.
5. What is your idea of the perfect vacation?
A secluded cabin with nature all around, away from the hustle and bustle of town with a comfortable chair outside for reading a good book.
6. What is your favorite holiday?
Fourth of July. I'm not a cold weather person and the Fourth of July pretty much guarantees that I will be able to be outdoors for the holiday. I might have to stay under a covering because of rain but at least I won't be cold!
